The Company

In the southern part of Taiwan, Mr. Chiang-Kuei (John) Feng started as an orchids hobbyist from 1981, collected & raised different kinds of orchids under a 100m²greenhouse.

1985, a simple working lab with a clean bench at the basement of his house was established, while the hybridization and propagation of orchids was started here. Few years later, the better greenhouse & more clean benches were built in Lin-Ro (The location of SOGO-Orchids’ current Lab Center).

For almost a decade’s research & development on some different orchids, Mr. Feng chose Phalaenopsis as the only focusing orchids for his career since 1990. And in 1995, more new greenhouses were built in Mei-Nong where the SOGO-Orchids’ current Office & Nursery Center located. In the year of 1998, Sogo Team Co., Ltd. was officially registered at Lin-Ro, Ping-Dong County, Taiwan.

During the period of the first 25 years (1981~2005), SOGO-Orchids has growing from one clean bench to be capable of producing 10 million more meri-clones plantlets per year. And developing the area of greenhouses from 100 m²to 38,000 m ² for producing more qualified flasks, young, mature & flowering plants.

For the next 25 years, SOGO-Orchids is willing to establish the partners’ distributing network worldwide for Phalaenopsis based on its leading innovation of varieties and the commitment to the quality & stability of supplement. To enrich more people’s life with the various & unique Phalaenopsis.
